Introduction

Why I have created this blog...

  • In Dec. 24, 2011 UGC NET Examination, not even a single student of Psychology all over India qualified for JRF.
  • In June 2012 UGC NET Examination, only 26 students  all over India qualified for JRF.
  • Many of my juniors and class mates often ask me how to ace UGC NET exam.
  • The previous results and trend bear testimony to the fact that qualifying for JRF is comparatively difficult in Psychology.
Despite that I strongly believe that a well planned strategy and hard work can do wonders. Although most of those applying for UGC NET in Psychology exert a lot of effort yet they hardly get the fruits of their toil in the proportion of their physical and mental labour exerted.
As for as preparation is concerned in Psychology there is dearth of guidance. A large majority is oblivious to the need of a planned strategy.

So here I can simplify the task in many ways.
  • How to analyse the prescribed syllabus and thereby lessen the burden.
  • I shall prescribe some essential books you need and sometimes the topics that should be read from particular books because many of my friends ask me which book to read and this confusion in rampant in students of Psychology.
  • How to utilize those books most effectively.
  • How to choose the best answer out of the four alternatives. If you know the art of choosing the best alternative (yes I do call it an art) then many times you would select the correct answer even if you had superficial knowledge of the question concerned.

  2. congrats Moazzam!! for this novel cause.....
i would like to add something, that since june 2012 UGC NET has changed its pattern, from descriptive questions to objective type questions. Not only the question pattern but also the qualifying criteria also get changed....so, now the importance of first paper is also noticeable. Since 2007, when i have completed my PG i have seen so many of students who did well in their second and third paper (according to their statements)but failed to qualify the very first paper of GS and teaching aptitude. Now in this changed scenario when the marks of first paper is also counting for the final result, the importance of first paper tremendously increased.
So, it would be good even great if you discuss the myths related with the first paper. ya, its the myth that makes first paper unbearable. like Maths hogi, GS me na jane kya kya poochenge, and teaching aptitude ye kya bala hai??? like these questions.
